We're going to see the dinosaurs...

Dylan loves dinosaurs, I am pretty sure most little kids do. He's a big fan of Dino Train, Dino Squad, toy dinosaurs, he's not picky, he will take them anyway he can get them. This weekend there are life size dinosaurs coming to the Knoxville Convention Center! From the photos I've seen on the promoters website the dinosaurs look pretty cool, and huge. At first I was a little worried they might freak Dylan out, but I showed him the website with the photos of the dinos (thanks for the tip Nina!) and he was super excited.

So tomorrow we are off to see the dinosaurs. What fun things are you doing this weekend?

Back in Iowa

When we were in Iowa in January for my grandpa's funeral it snowed, and until the past few days that was really all the snow that Iowa had gotten so far this year. It figures, the one time we are back that it would snow! Dylan was excited though. That was the most snow he had seen and he was very excited to go outside and play in the snow. Luckily his Aunt's Dana and Cathy and Grandma Judy were happy to accompany him outside in the freezing cold to play in the snow! Dana tought him how to make snow angels. Cathy and Jane even bought Dylan a sled! With it being almost 70 degrees in Tennessee today, I doubt (hope! I am ready for Spring)we are going to get a chance to use the sled again. There's always next year!

Myrtle Beach Marathon!

I have been counting down the days until the Myrtle Beach Marathon, because we get to go to the BEACH!! It's been over a year since I've been to the beach, any beach at all (the last beach I was at was on our cruise last year, it's hard to believe it's been a year since then). I am sure you all feel my pain. But after living in Florida for almost 5 years and having the beach accessable in 15 minutes, I would certainly take that over snow and cold. Our beach weather doesn't look great though upper 50's and low 60's. Good weather for running a marathon though!

Marathon 2 of 12 is the Bi-Lo Myrtle Beach Marathon. The course goes right past the house we are renting, which totally makes my day, because have you ever tried to follow someone who is running a marathon? It's not easy driving around trying to figure out where they will be and where you should go to watch them. I wish Dave's Nike GPS watch had some sort of tracking divice on it, that would be very helpful. Anyway, we are lucky this time, we can just watch from the house and then head to the finish line!

I don't know if Dave is getting nervous, but I am! I always get nervous before his races and before we travel, this is both, so I am extra nervous. I know I will start to feel better once we get on the road tomorrow. I am sure Dave is feeling pretty good about the race. He did great at Miami and has been training consistently for Myrtle Beach.

Oreo Footballs and Friends

What better way to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday than with oreo truffles shaped & decorated like footballs?

Definitely adding Dave-a-ritas, spicy pulled pork, roasted potatoes, green beans, chipolte shrimp cups, avocado salsa and white queso dip made it even better.

Five little boys running around, five good friends to chat and catch up with and one sweet baby girl made it awesome. Remind me again why we don't have people over more often?

Confused

The flowers aren't the only ones that are confused about our "winter" weather...and yes, these photos were taken Friday and today, not last Spring.
